Chou's Bricks - just like LEGO!

In addition to his load bearing tongue and groove blocks and his pre-stressed slabs, now he has an interesting new product - fairfaced cement bricks that have the same tongue and grooves.

These bricks are smaller lighter than the blocks, and much easier to work with. They also include special blocks that have voids for services that run horizontally and vertically.

These blocks are ideal for anyone who wants to build their own brick fencing. Chou tells me that they are non load-bearing, but still you could put in steel reinforced concrete in the voids, and they can also be combined with the thicker and stouter blocks.

All that's needed now is a someone prettier than Chou to lay the bricks.

I just read most of your site while procrastinating. I stumbled upon the concept of Hexagonal Urban Design awhile ago (after reading "Hexagonal Planning in Theory and Practice", and I have to say I was very impressed with everything on here! Your FAQ was great, and it answered every question that came up. Thank you!

Hi there!! I liked this post,.. if only houses were as affordable as Lego :), I wanted to introduce our company to you, maybe you could help us out a bit? We're a new Spanish firm called 0coma9 Architecture, where we help link architects with competitions and publications that search in sync. It's a really great service. We also provide some architecture news. I'd really appreciate it if you could link us to your blog if we're good enough -we're really new and in need of some exposure- but if you think we still need some work, please be sure to let me know how we can make it better!

Thanks so much for your time,

We actually had quite a few entries submitted to the BrickStainable Design Competition last year in the Technical Category using mortar-less self manufactured brick. The Design Competition challenges creative minds to develop new and innovative concepts that promote greener applications for brick. There is an Integrated Design category in addition to the Technical side. You should enter a team! Top prize is $10,000 USD and travel to Washington, DC. The competition website is www.BrickStainable.com. Enjoy! And keep your blog posts coming; we love ‘em!

Since these bricks are lighter, one can carry more using an SUV pickup truck. They are easier to transport and set as well.
